Actions Speaker Louder Than Words

Compassion Ministry is aimed at creating an inspirational, educational, and supportive environment with communities to show compassion despite people’s differences and circumstances, as God has called us to do. With this in mind, Divine Domingo, the current Chair of Compassion Ministry, calls all youth to demonstrate compassionate acts of service wherever God places them.

Can you share a little about your journey and what led you to become involved in ministry?

I was minding my own and God's business in Barrie when PJS (Pastor John Scott) stumbled upon me and said, "Hey, wanna be the co-chair of Compassion?" and I’m like, "What's that?" And here I am, still minding God's business but in a wider area of His vineyard.

What is the vision or mission of Compassion ministry, and why is it important to you?

Compassion ministry is important to me because it aligns with my own personal view in life: actions speak louder than words. We aim to mobilize our youth and young adults to be the hands and feet of Jesus by being involved in compassionate acts of service wherever God placed them to be.

Are there any upcoming opportunities for people to be involved in Compassion? If so, could you tell us a bit about those?

Absolutely! We are always open to individuals who share the same values of selfless service, whether to be a valued member of the Executive team or to facilitate a Compassion Outreach Initiative (COIN) in their local church or region. The most recent opportunity would be this March 15th, Global Youth Day, where they can #bethesermon. Contact your local church or regional youth leader on how to be involved! You can also reach me directly on Instagram: @divinesque.

We thank Divine for spending time with us, and as we get closer to Global Youth Day, we look forward to seeing you all engage in compassionate ministry.
