Deeper Roots, Higher Branches: MWC Youth Rally 2025

Aerial view of MWC Worship Kingsview Church.

From the moment I walked in, it was noticeably warmer than outside. Not just the temperature, but the hospitality of the Kingsview Church members, as the host was warm and contagious. Persons were encouraged to utilize the name tags provided, which was a lovely touch and added to the friendly atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised and moved by the level of attendance and representation of the different churches in the Metro West Central Region.

Deep Dive Sabbath School was brought to us by Mufaro from the OC Young Adult Ministry. He wasted none of his precious allotted time bringing the lesson in a relatable way for young people and provoking our thoughts as we looked through the scriptures.

Praise and worship by ACF York was truly elevating. You could feel the sincerity from the platform as the singers were fully supported by the cohesive musicians. They left us in the right attitude to receive the Word, and I dare say they left no crumbs!

Elder Timothy Fagbenro, weekend speaker.

The sermon was brought to us by renowned youth leader Timothy Fagbenro. He kept on theme for the day, which was "Deeper Roots, Higher Branches." He showed us an interesting and unique perspective on the familiar story of "The Three Hebrew Boys," looking through the lens of King Nebuchadnezzar.

One major takeaway for me was that God consistently reveals Himself to us in our lives, just as He revealed Himself to King Nebuchadnezzar, and it is up to us to decide how to respond to these revelations. Are we going to walk towards Him? Or are we going to walk away like the king did, who struggled with pride and fear of losing his kingdom? Timothy engagingly delivered the sermon and was quite timely. It was 10 outta 10!

ACF York leading out the praise and worship experience.

After a delicious fellowship lunch, we got treated with an insightful panel discussion on career development and navigation. Some good conversations came out of questions like "What inspired you to pursue the career you're in?" and "Have you ever felt God leading you towards a different path?" When you have a diverse panel with professionals from culinary, education, law enforcement, and medical fields, you can expect nothing short of a rich, inspiring, and informative dialogue.

It was a Sabbath well spent with both familiar and new faces! Shout out to the MWCRYA committee for the awesome experience. Thank you for reminding us to have deeper roots and higher branches in Christ.
