On August 17, 2025, the Heritage Ghanaian Seventh-day Adventist Church’s Youth Department hosted its inaugural Back-to-School Evangelism Fair. This event was part of the Pentecost 2025 initiative, aimed at addressing systemic inequities by providing educational resources and spiritual support to families in under-resourced communities. The fair served children aged 4–12 and their families, offering:
Over 1700 FREE school supplies
Evangelism materials for children and adults
Bouncy castles, carnival games, face painting, and balloon animals
Free food, including pizza, ice cream, popcorn, and cotton candy
Raffle prizes, gift bags, and gift cards

A confirmed total of 112 children and 90 parents/guardians attended—four times the expected number—representing 57 unique families, with an estimated 250 total attendees. The event was supported by 17 youth volunteers and funded through contributions from the church, the Ontario Conference, and youth leaders.
Highlights included families sharing how they found joy, support, and connection through the fair. One family, displaced by a fire, expressed deep gratitude for the supplies and care they received. Another attendee discovered the church for the first time and later joined us for worship during the evangelistic series we promoted.

Looking ahead, the church aims to expand the fair into an annual tradition, incorporating more resources such as backpacks, hair care services, and educational workshops. This event demonstrated the power of combining justice-driven service with gospel truth, positioning the church as a beacon of hope and the youth as leaders in Christ-centred mission.
We would like to thank our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for sending a great harvest of people, all those who volunteered, and the entire church leadership for empowering the young people to serve. We also thank the Ontario Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for their generous subsidy and Pastor John Scott, director of the youth ministries department for helping facilitate the funding.
Thank you to our neighbours, near and far, for attending the fair with open hearts and joyful spirits. Whether you came for school supplies, stayed for the fun, or connected with our church family, your participation helped create a vibrant atmosphere of love, support, and community. We look forward to seeing you again—and growing together in faith, fellowship, and purpose.
