Leading with Faith in Ministry and Management
Balancing leadership in both church and career, Alessandro Coronado serves as President of the Near North Region while managing Lululemon at Georgian Mall. Here’s how he discovered his call to ministry.

I was born in Peru and came to Canada at the age of nine, which gave me a deep appreciation for multicultural experiences and the importance of belonging. Over the years, I’ve poured myself into creating environments—whether in the workplace, in church, or in the community—where people feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow.
What inspired me to get involved in youth leadership was the realization that young people often carry untapped potential, but they need mentors and spaces that nurture them holistically. As President of the Near North Regional Youth Association, I see firsthand how critical it is to create opportunities where youth can connect faith, service, and community. Watching leaders before me model patience, vision, and care sparked in me the desire to step into leadership—not for recognition, but to open doors for others.
A moment in my own youth when I realized the importance of faith in community came during my years in the Seventh-day Adventist education system. Surrounded by peers and mentors who lived out their values, I saw that faith wasn’t only personal—it was meant to be shared, lifting up those around us. That experience shaped my conviction that a strong community rooted in faith can provide resilience, belonging, and hope.
Balancing leadership with learning remains a central practice in my life. I view leadership not as having all the answers but as modelling curiosity and humility. Whether guiding my team at Lululemon, mentoring assistant managers, or leading youth events, I remain intentional about staying teachable, seeking feedback, pursuing training, and letting others’ perspectives refine my own.
