Called To Serve

Meet Daniel Doyle!

Daniel has a genuine heart for young people and a strong desire to see them grow in their walk with God. He’ll be sharing a bit about how God has been leading him and how He’s opened doors for Daniel to serve in his role and make an impact through youth ministry.

1. Tell us about yourself and what inspired you to get involved in youth leadership.

My life has been inspired by those who stood around me in my tender years. They took the time to pray with me and for me. Their care and concern encouraged me to commit my life to God’s calling. Ministry to be exact. There was so much going on around me but there were not many willing to take the time to listen to what the youth had to say. Seeing them walk away from God’s fold one by one, propelled me to reach out and this is where this spark into youth ministry began. Leading by example was the only way God’s message would be shared and I said yes.

2. Tell us about a moment in your leadership where you really had to rely on God more than your own ability. What happened and what did you learn?

One of those moments where God truly came through still surprised me. I got a call that I was chosen to speak at a church in my region for youth day. I committed everything to God and He led the way. That Sabbath His word was shared with power and clarity as His children recommitted their lives to Him.

3. How do you balance being a leader with still being a learner yourself?

Leadership has humbled me as I serve God’s children. With every church visitation, youth activity, regional rally, AY program, games night or just a kind gesture of remembering others names. This has taught me the importance of being relatable even if I’m the leader. Because of my upbringing, I often hide from the spotlight. If you don’t know that I’m the leader you’ll never figure it out unless you’re told. Humility is key.

4. How has serving in this role changed your personal relationship with Jesus?

Being called out to serve God’s church, has given me the encouragement to spend more personal time with God. Learning to listen to Him speak in so many interesting ways. One important lesson ministry has taught me is that I must first be the example if I wish to lead others.
