Near North End-of-Year Youth Rally 2025

Youth and congregants respond to an altar call given by weekend speaker Anita Gurley.

We were all thankful that the Lord held back the forecasted snowstorm so that the saints can safely gather on this special youth rally. The Holland Landing SDA congregation spent an insightful hour of Sabbath School and the youth shone throughout the Divine Service. The theme for the day was Over|Flow. Being receptive to God's blessings and grace while having an attitude of gratitude.

The youth proudly participated in items such as offering, special music, praise and worship, and prayer. The worship was quite encouraging as the congregation cheered on the participants, making the love felt all around.

Youth rally speaker Anita Gurley.

The sermon was presented by the lovely Anita Gurley entitled "The Blessing Analysis." We dived into the story of Abram and looked closely at how Abram had to not only venture into unknown lands, but he had to leave his success behind. Why would God ask him to leave what was obviously a "blessed life" Don't we too tend to ask God for all the details first before proceeding with His will?

She made use of props and a short skit to demonstrate her point that at the end of the day God knows what's best and He should be in the driver's seat. She also challenged us to analyze our prayers. Are they accessorized with audacity that since we've kept the law, then God must bless me as we inquired? Anita reminds us that we do serve to be blessed, we serve because we ARE blessed.

After a wonderful meal, they facilitated an Adventist Youth program looking at how we can enhance our devotional life. This was then followed by comedic Bible jeopardy and games at the neighborhood gym. Hat's off to the Near North Region Youth Association for another job well done. God's presence truly overflowed.
