The Sweet Spot: October Edition

Fall’s in full swing with leaves dropping like bad Wi-Fi, and we’re here to keep you thriving with a grin. Let’s chat about dodging sniffles, surviving cuffing season, slaying fall fashion, and navigating Thanksgiving table talks, with sprinkles of laughter.

Flu season’s sneaking in like a ninja, but we’ve got NEWSTART as our shield! Load up on plant-based goodies, think kale smoothies that taste better than they sound. Take brisk walks for that crisp air and sunlight, maybe chase a squirrel for cardio. Chug water, snooze 7 to 9 hours, and skip the candy haul, unless you want your immune system to ghost you. Prayer’s your power-up (Philippians 4:13), and a chamomile tea is basically a hug in a mug. Have a sneeze? Take a ColdFX, go see the doc, don’t spread germs.

Do chilly nights got you craving a cuddle buddy? Hold up, cuffing season’s a trap! Date like you’re picking potluck dishes, with purpose. Hit up local young adult events to find folks who vibe with your faith. Set boundaries, pray for clarity, and maybe don’t slide into DMs after one halfway decent conversation. And if you're single like a Pringle? Rock it! Your life is complete. A partner isn't going to complete your life but simply add value to a life already lived to its fullest!

Now shorter days can make you feel like a grumpy cat, so kick off with morning devos for that Jesus glow. Fashion? Layer like a pro: think scarves fluffier than a sheep, boots, and sweaters in pumpkin spice shades. Thrift for deals, because stewardship’s our jam. Slather on natural lotion so your skin doesn’t flake like bad pie crust.

Family dinners are a vibe, but convos can go from sweet to spicy real quick. Do: Spill what you’re thankful for, like God’s grace or stuffing that slaps. Swap fave Bible verses or potluck recipes. Don’t: Poke the bear with politics or gossip, unless you want Aunt Marge’s epic side-eye. If things get heated, just start singing a random hymn!
