Discipleship In Action: MNC’s Week of Prayer

Metro North Central’s (MNC) annual Week of Prayer (WOP), held from March 15-21 2026, was a reminder of what happens when our community comes together. We gathered throughout the week, and closed off on sabbath for a full-day Global Youth Day Celebration that brought the WOP to a powerful close.

Each evening focused on a different aspect of Discipleship in Action, with a playful nightly twist of “dress codes”. Whether it was “dressing like your Bible”, or “dressing as your relationship status” it was inspiring to see youth, young adults, and even older members of the MNC community show up, not only to attend, but to engage.
A moment of reflection from the prayer activity: “What did Jesus Save You From?”
From passionate conversations about “red flags” and “green flags” in relationships, to reflecting on what it truly means to follow Jesus' example, and how you can be a disciple for Jesus to others. We learned how to fall in love with prayer again; through spending time with God the same way we would with someone special; to sharing what Jesus saved you from and covering it in red paint, this week was a refreshing touch to helping strengthen our faith.
But the week was more than just meaningful discussions. It was filled with memories of new friendships, heartfelt testimonies, and sharing meals together. Stepping outside the church walls to serve the community, and demonstrating what it means to build our lives upon Jesus.
As we concluded on Global Youth Day, it was clear that the week didn't just inspire those who were able to attend each night. The love shared throughout the community left a mark. It was a reminder that faith is not only something we read and talk about, it is something we live, show and carry with us everyday.
